Meet Your 2026–2027 WMS Athletic Booster Club Board
Behind every successful athletic program is an incredible team of volunteers working tirelessly behind the scenes. We are excited to introduce the 2026–2027 WMS Athletic Booster Club Board—a dedicated group of parents and school leaders committed to keeping WMS Athletics among the very best.
Before we introduce this year's team, we'd like to recognize several board members whose service has made a lasting impact on our Wildcat community.
A heartfelt thank you to Michele Harper, who has been the creative force behind our Facebook page for the past several years. Michele continued supporting WMS Athletics even after her student moved on from WMS—a true testament to her dedication and love for our school.
Thank you to Kim Beamish, who has faithfully kept our financial records organized for the past four years. Her attention to detail and countless hours behind the scenes have been invaluable.
We also want to recognize Suzanne Zylius, who has managed our athletic equipment for the past three years. Anyone who has ever handled uniforms and equipment knows just how big of a job that is. Thank you, Suzanne, for keeping everything running smoothly!
Now, meet the team leading WMS Athletics into another exciting year:
Chris Jones returns for his 8th year on the board and continues to serve as our fearless President. His leadership and dedication have helped shape the success of our Booster Club.
Norma Felipe begins her 11th year on the board as our Secretary. She keeps detailed minutes from every meeting, preserves our history, and somehow always makes the magic happen behind the scenes.
Damon Galose is a true community builder. After serving with the WMS PTSO, we're thrilled to have him on the Booster Club Board, bringing people together and helping great ideas become reality.
Lauren McNeely joins the board this year as Treasurer and will be keeping our finances in order. We're excited to welcome her to the team!
Matt Hatam returns for his 3rd year, managing the technology that keeps our website, registrations, and systems running efficiently.
If you can't find Kelly Schick, she's probably on the track or somewhere along the cross country course! Kelly begins her 3rd year on the board and will be overseeing athlete registration this season.
We're excited to welcome Will Friedrich, who joins the board as our Equipment Coordinator, helping ensure our athletes have everything they need to succeed.
Amy Mait is bringing fresh energy and excitement to Spirit Wear this year. We can't wait for everyone to see what's in store!
Lauren Brown joins the board to lead Communications, helping keep our Wildcat families informed throughout the year.
Of course, none of this would be possible without Coach Paul Howard, our outstanding Athletic Director and scheduling extraordinaire. His commitment to WMS student-athletes and our athletic programs is second to none, and our community is incredibly fortunate to have him.
We're also grateful for the continued support of Principal Marcus Leake and Assistant Principal Eric Grieser. Their leadership helps make Weddington Middle School a place where academic excellence and athletic excellence thrive together.
As you see our board members around campus, at games, and at events this year, please take a moment to thank those who have completed their service and welcome our new volunteers. They generously give their time because they believe in our students, our coaches, and our Wildcat community.
Here's to another incredible year of WMS Athletics!
Go Wildcats!
